Job Activities

Job activities represent specific things that a volunteer does during their shift, and each activity during a shift has a start and duration within that shift. Let's use an example here for the job "Museum Docent". During a shift for this job, a volunteer can do the activities "Student Tour", "Adult Tour", "Narwhal Cart" and "Squid Cart".

Job activities are distinct from Activity types: Activity types are tags that say "Job X includes 'Outdoor work' and 'Working with people'", and that is used when filtering or reporting on jobs, slots, assignments or hours.

When posted by a volunteer during hours entry or self-checkout using VSys Live, job activities become "virtual" hours records. That is:

The volunteer has an assignment solely for "Museum Docent"; this assignment doesn't reference any of the activities. Activities come from the underlying job.

Job Activities are not part of the standard VSys Live implementation. In general, installing and configuring this option comes with an additional fee. See Advanced features for information.
