What do you recommend for the touch screen/kiosk interface?

VSys works with a wide variety of hardware for the kiosk, and we don’t recommend any specific configuration. Any Windows-compatible touch screen should work, as do a wide variety of magnetic stripe and barcode readers for instant volunteer sign-in. Some newer all-in-one systems like the Asus Eee Top machines, with computer and integrated touch screen, are available and can be less expensive than a full standalone computer and display.

The computer running the kiosk needs Windows 2000, XP or Vista, at least 256MB of memory (1GB for Vista), and a network connection to your database server. A touch screen display is easier to use, but a mouse and basic display will work, and a keyboard is optional to allow volunteers send messages via the kiosk.
