Entering Sterling/Verified Volunteers Background Check Requests via VSys Live

New volunteers who apply using VSys Live can have their background check requests automatically created by their application.

Set up VSys Live application

On your VSys Live online application for new volunteers (or applications if you have more than one),

1. Place the field Sterling/Verified Volunteers --> Package on the application. (It doesn't matter where on the application you place it since it will be invisible to the volunteer.)
   
2. Right-click on the field and select Hidden in VSys Live.
3. Right-click on the field again and select Set default value. Choose the Sterling Volunteers Package to be used: this value tells Sterling Volunteers what types of checks to run and how the billing should be handled.
4. Place the field Sterling/Verified Volunteers --> Status on the application. (It doesn't matter where on the application you place this one either.)
5. Right-click on the field and select Hidden in VSys Live.
6. Right-click on the field again and select Set default value. Choose Ready to send if you want VSys to send these requests to Sterling Volunteers at the first opportunity, or to On hold if you want to manually review these before they're sent to Sterling Volunteers.
7. Click on Edit application properties (upper-left corner).
8. Scroll down to the bottom to the Options panel, and change the value for Create/reuse Sterling/Verified Volunteers to Create a new one even if one exists.
   
9. Save the application's properties and its layout.

What does this do? Whenever this application is completed online via VSys Live, VSys creates a new background check request with the Package and Status you set. These fields aren't visible to the volunteer online, but VSys knows they're there and uses them to let you set the options for these requests.

Send requests to Sterling Volunteers

Create a scheduled task to automatically send pending background check requests to Sterling Volunteers. It's important that this task is run on a regular basis so that volunteers get their initial e-mail from Sterling Volunteers soon after they complete your online application.

Retrieve results from Sterling Volunteers

Create a scheduled task to automatically retrieve background check results. It should be done regularly so that when your staff is ready to manually handle background check results, the expected results are in VSys One.
