Creating galleries and putting images in them is all well and good. But where can you use them, and what are they good for? Once you've created at least one gallery, things such as jobs, locations, job slots, and others can be given albums. You then put images into those albums.
Example job image album
Right-click in the album for a job, job group, location, or open schedule job to add new items:
From a gallery to add a pre-existing items
From a file and choose a gallery to load an image from a file and add it to the selected gallery.
Album image details
Or,
Edit to bring up the details of the image. Editing anything here overrides the corresponding field in the gallery item.
Primary image to set the selected image as "primary", or the main image for this item. The primary image can be the original image or an adjusted version.
Delete removes the image from this album. It does not delete or affect the image as placed in any other album, just in this one.
Using these images
Once you've created at least one gallery, when you use a merge template to describe an item, these album images become fields that you can place in the template. In a location-based merge template, for example, click on Insert, Location, then Album images. Here you can select from:
Primary image, plus optional adjustment. If no primary image is set for the location but there are images in the album, VSys will use a random one.
Random image, plus optional adjustment.
Any gallery dynamic banners that you've defined; placing this field will show a dynamic banner based on all of the images in this location's album.
Any gallery table templates; placing this field will show a table with all of the images in this location's album.
