Incoming message actions are generally applied just after incoming message classifier rules, if any. Based on the rules, message tags and message types, they apply any number of specific actions:
Add assignment comment |
If linked to an assignment, add a comment to the assignment. |
Add certification comment |
If linked to a certification, add a comment to the certification. |
Add comment to person |

Add interview comment |
If linked to an interview, add a comment to the interview. |
Add training comment |
If linked to an training, add a comment to the training record. |
Change assignment status |
If linked to an assignment, change the assignment's Status. |
Change certification status |
If linked to a certification, change the certification's Status. |
Change incoming message status |
Changes the Status of this incoming message itself; commonly used to mark it as "Handled". |
Change interview status |
If linked to an interview, change the interview's Status. |
Change letter status |
If part of a letter, change the letter's Status.
|
Change notification status |
If part of a notification, change the notification's Status. |
Change training status |
If linked to a certification, change the training's Status. |
Edit contact flags |
Change the contact flags of the associated person. Commonly used when the incoming message is determined to be an "unsubscribe" message. |
Forward via e-mail |
Forwards the body of the e-mail on to one or more designated e-mail addresses. When doing this VSys will make that e-mail appear as if it came from the person sending the incoming message. Note that doing this can potentially expose the recipient e-mail addresses to the original sender if these forwarded e-mails bounce. |
Mark e-mail address as bad |
Mark the e-mail address as bad (used primarily if the message is determined to be a "bounce": a bad/undeliverable e-mail. |
If more than one incoming message action matches the message, all of those actions are applied to the message; i.e. VSys doesn't stop applying these actions after the first one has matched the message.
Incoming message actions are not part of the standard VSys Live implementation. In general, installing and configuring this option comes with an additional fee. See Advanced features for information.
