VSys can be told to run the Index update tool directly from the command line, rather than using the visual user interface. This is handy for scheduled runs without having to involve users.
Run the command line Index update tool by launching VSys with the ixrebuild: parameter, followed by any codes. For example,
VSys.exe ixrebuild
or,
VSys.exe ixrebuild:purexml,transitions,optionunique
VSys must be configured to automatically start with a database for these to work or a database must be specified on the command line. If VSys prompts you for a database to use when it's run, the automated index updater cannot work.
