When creating your SurveyMonkey survey
Your SurveyMonkey account must be "Select", "Gold" or "Platinum": the "Basic" account type cannot export survey results to Excel.
Valid question types are "Multiple Choice (Only One Answer)", "Multiple Choice (Multiple Answers)", "Comment/Essay Box", "Single Textbox", "Demographic Information (U.S.)", "Demographic Information (International)", and "Date and/or Time".
VSys may ignore question types it doesn't understand or it may make the wrong type of question in VSys if it's unable to determine the proper question type from the SurveyMonkey export file.
VSys survey definitions
Kiosk surveys and SurveyMonkey surveys are mutually incompatible, meaning that you can't use a SurveyMonkey survey on the VSys Kiosk or vice-versa. This is due to the much wider array of question types available on SurveyMonkey vs. the VSys Kiosk.
SurveyMonkey questions have three data types that kiosk surveys do not: "Text", "E-mail address" and "Date".
Within VSys to send a survey via e-mail
Within a letter template enter: hyperlink[[https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/XXXXXXX?c=<<Code>>]]~
This awkward text is made up of several elements:
hyperlink[[(text)]]~
Takes the text within the double brackets and makes a hyperlink out of it when the letter is merged. Note the trailing tilde "~", it and the double brackets are important.
https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/XXXXXXX?c=
This is the survey link provided by SurveyMonkey with "?c=" added to the end.
<<Code>>
Represents the recipient's unique 16 digit ID code in VSys. Like any merge field it's entered by clicking on Insert... in the upper left corner. Find the Code field under Data field --> People --> Other --> Code. You can't just type this text in, you must use the Insert... link for this to work.
This creates a link in the letter with an individual's unique ID information.
