Fix Recurring Assignment Detail Gaps

Recurring assignments are comprised of the recurring assignment definition which sets out the rules for the recurring assignments, plus the detail assignments which are based on those rules. The detail assignments are created automatically but can be individually edited or removed. To deal with anomalies where detail assignments have gone missing, the Fix recurring assignment detail gaps tool was created. Use it to find recurring assignments which are missing one or more of the detail assignments which would normally be created as part of that recurring assignment and optionally re-create those missing detail assignments.

Steps in this task

1. Open the Fix recurring assignment detail gaps tool from the Administrator tools panel.
   
2. Choose your filters on Jobs, Locations, and Currently extended to between. Note that this last value refers to the date to which the recurring assignment is currently extended, not to the dates of the possible gaps.
3. Click Find assignments.
4. If any recurring assignments are found which have gaps, click on that assignment to see which detail assignments VSys proposes to create. Here you can see the new ones in green type.
   
5. Close the detail to go back to the main listing.
6. Check any assignments which you want VSys to change.
7. Click on Save selected records.
