Job Signup is how volunteers search for and select job openings.
Job search display type: Results in a sortable table or Results in a calendar view.
Maximum job search results to display per page: Limit how many results to show at once.
Expiration timeout in seconds for job search results cache: VSys Live "remembers" job searches because they take time to calculate. The value you set here tells VSys Live how long its memory of those should be.
Merge template for popup display: When a volunteer opens up the details for a job opening, if you've left this field blank, VSys Live will show some default details about the opening. Instead if you choose a merge template, it will display the details about that opening using the template. This lets you include additional data and format information about the opening however you want to. (The merge template's Type must be Job slots.)
Merge template for hint display: A volunteer holding the mouse over a job opening shows some information about that job. If you set a merge template here, VSys Live will display that information using the layout you set and with the fields you've chosen. (The merge template's Type must be Job slots.)
Other options: Permit team signup, if checked and teams are enabled in VSys Live, and the current volunteer is a team, VSys Live will prompt for which team members to include when signing up.
For each job shown, display: Choose the properties of each opening to show. (If you don't include the Signup button, there's no way for a volunteer to actually sign up.)
Search options - allow searching by: Use this to select which search criteria to show for volunteer searching. Don't include all of them! It would work, but make for a confusing experience. Instead, select just the ones that your volunteers would find most useful. A combination of Date range and Keywords is usually a good selection.
Perform a default empty search on page load, hide search form: If you check this box, VSys Live will hide all search criteria and click the Search button itself automatically. This is useful when you have a small number of possible openings and don't need to give the volunteer any options.
This block can be shown to both logged-in visitors and those not logged-in. If no one is logged in, the Signup button will never show since VSys Live requires that it know who to assign to an opening!
