Action Link: VSys Live/Anywhere Password Reset

This password reset tool is different from others in VSys Live: instead of sending a new password to the user, it sends only a reset code to the user's e-mail account on file, and the user is required to enter that code during the same login session (i.e. not leaving or reloading the page) that the reset was requested from. It is notably more secure in that:

"User ID" text

If no account on file, do not indicate this to user

For security reasons you may not want to tell the user that the user ID they've provided doesn't match one on file. Checking this box gives the user no feedback on the presence or absence of an account.

Message to show if no account on file

If If no account on file... isn't checked, and the user enters a User ID that's not valid, this message will be displayed.

Password reset followup message

After clicking Send reset code, this message is shown to the user.

Password reset e-mail body

Sent to the user after Send reset code is clicked. The message can be created with the appropriate fields using the VSys Live login notifications settings tool.

Password reset token lifetime

After the reset code has been sent, it will expire after this many minutes.

Caption of the Save button.

Confirmation e-mail body

Sent to the user after the password has been successfully reset. The message can be created with the appropriate fields using the VSys Live login notifications settings tool.

Redirect link after saving

After a successful password reset, redirect the user to this page.

Redirect link after cancelling

Redirect the user to this page if the Cancel button is clicked.

Valid fields in e-mail bodies

Date and time reset was requested, e.g. "01/09/2019 12:49PM".

Date reset was requested, e.g. "01/01/2019".

Time reset was requested, e.g. "12:40pm".

[!name]

Name of the person being reset.

[!userid]

User ID of the person being reset.

[!ip]

IP address the request was made from.

[!orgname]

Organization name from the VSys registration code.

[!url]

Full URL of the web page, e.g. www.vsysone.com/pages/pwdreset.

[!urlbase]

Website base address, e.g. www.vsysone.com.
