Universal Background Screening accepts requests from VSys via an XML web interface. This lets you automate the process of submitting screening requests from VSys into Universal's systems as well as have results from those screenings returned automatically to VSys.
After setting up Universal Background Screening, your day-to-day steps are:
After the request is submitted to Universal, the volunteer applicant is sent an e-mail by Universal. The applicant then:
Universal applies their checks and logic to the request.
Note that Universal does not approve, reject or otherwise adjudicate the results of any screenings. The only results returned by Universal to VSys are the "flags" set from within Universal's web portal. Speak with your Universal representative for details on how Universal's process works.
VSys does no adjudication, and makes no decisions on its own: VSys only records those adjudication statuses decided elsewhere (in this case by or on Universal's website).
VSys will not collect Social Security numbers for any Universal Background Screening requests. If required by a particular Universal package, Universal can collect the volunteer's SSN directly from the volunteer when the volunteer enters and validates their personal information on Universal's site.
